Greetings Goddess!

Thank you for answering the call to healing.  This is for women, moms and birthing people who have given birth whether 2 weeks, 2 years, or 2 decades ago and would like to have a couple of hours of being tended to after the birth of your child(ren). This is also for those who have gone through major life transitions and are trying to call themselves back home. This is for the woman who feels disconnected to her body. This is for those who have experienced loss and abortion as you too are postpartum.

The Postpartum period is one that deserves tenderness. Its the new mothers opportunity for healing, connecting and learning her baby, while also becoming aware and in tune with the rhythm of her new life and body. It is a rebirth of self and shedding of your old self.

Share your birth story and learn some of the history behind these Herbal Baths. Experience first hand the healing benefits of what a century long tradition of Bain Fèy is and how it brings healing to the newly postpartum mother and is a true act of love and village like care.

Location - Your Home

Duration: 2-3hr experience (depending on if anything comes up for you - Cathleen takes her time and holds space for you. This process is not rushed.)

WHAT IS A BAIN FÈY?
Is translated as a herbal bath. Traditionally, Haitian elders, and mothers would make a blend of herbal medicine to bathe their daughters and daughters of the community post birth with leaves that had healing properties.

Depending on where you are from in Ayiti some of the blend may vary. These herbal blends were used to speedy the healing process and fortify the physical and energetic body of the mother who just gave birth or experienced a loss. It was law. This bath is typically done by day three postpartum for vaginal birth in Ayiti. For cesarean births, you wait until after your post op visit, so that incision has completely healed so you can be submerged in water. In America we tend to wait until the mother stops bleeding to perform this sacred bath for her.

SOME BENEFITS OF A BAIN FÈY?

- loosening up the tense, tight muscles post birth

- helps retain body heat during the healing process

- supports circulation in the body

- to intentionally choose healing during the most vulnerable time the first days of the 4th trimester

- tightening yoni walls

Water alone is medicine and has the power to heal so it’s no wonder a lot of Haitian healing is water and plant medicine centered.

Traditionally after your Bain Fèy it would be followed with a belly massage using lwil maskreti which is Castor Oil a Haitian staple for remedying various ailments. Then belly binding and cleansing postpartum teas such as Te ti Baum " mint tea".

After a Bain Fèy the mothering process would continue for the next 40days following the birth of the child avoiding cold and windy weathers

It is recommended to do a Haitian Bain Fèy three (3) times for a full cycle of healing. This can be a combination of baths and yoni steams.
